Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in Mountain Grove, MO is seeking a Groundsperson to support the crew by performing ground-based tasks such as clearing brush and trees and handling site cleanup. A valid driver’s license is required, and ability to work outdoors in varied weather is essential.

The role involves operating hand lines, pruners, pole saws, and chain saws; loading materials; setting up road signs; and assisting with storm restoration as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs and use saws in uneven terrain.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• First-aid certification and CPR ability.
• Willingness to wear PPE as required.
• Driver's license required for driving positions.
• Able to understand verbal job instructions.
• Maintain balance on uneven terrain.
• Effective communication with team members.
• Endurance for an eight to ten hour day.
• Operate and service required tools and equipment.
• Travel for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce safe practices and rules.
• Keep work area clear of debris.
• Work from the ground to clear undergrowth using saws and pruners.
• Load/unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Use hand lines to lower limbs and equipment.
• Clean up job sites after completion.
• Carry, prepare, and store materials, tools, and equipment at site.
• Set up and break down road signs as directed.
• Flag traffic to protect workers and the public.
• Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks/equipment; report major repairs.
• Safeguard employees/public by maintaining safe practices and communication.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
