Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services in Maryland seeks a Groundsperson to support crews by clearing brush and trees from the ground and performing site cleanup. A valid Driver's License, CDL Class B with air brakes or Class A preferred is required.

Essential duties include enforcing safety rules, loading equipment, handling tools like chainsaws, and assisting with storm restoration work as needed.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must meet work authorization requirements (I-9/E-Verify).
• Experience in vegetation management or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clear brush and trees from the ground using handsaws, pole saws, pruners and other tools.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush and debris; feed brush into a chipper.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and the public.
• Drive trucks or operate equipment as assigned and perform basic maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and report major repairs as needed.
• Travel for storm restoration work when required.
