Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services is seeking a Groundsperson to support crews by performing ground-based tree clearing and site cleanup. A valid driver’s license with at least three years of driving experience is required, and you will work outdoors in varying conditions during storm restoration.

Essential responsibilities include safe work practices, debris clearance, operating handsaws and chain saws, loading equipment, setting up traffic controls, and driving or servicing

Qualifications

• Must be able to drag heavy limbs and use chainsaws in uneven terrain.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce safe practices and rules.
• Clear work area of debris.
• Use handsaws, pole saws, pruners, and chain saws to clear brush and trees.
• Load/unload trucks with logs and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and the public.
• Drive trucks or operate equipment as assigned.
• Perform maintenance on trucks and equipment and report major repairs.
