Job summary

UW-Whitewater’s Facilities Planning and Management seeks a Groundskeeper to perform year-round landscaping and grounds maintenance on campus. The role includes snow and ice removal, litter control, and operating vehicles and power equipment to support campus upkeep.

The position requires a High School Diploma and a valid driver’s license, with potential for evening/weekend shifts and overtime during snow events. It is a regular, on-site role with a 6 am–2 pm schedule.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma required.
• Ability to attain UW System driver authorization within first week of employment.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and remedies plant diseases and insect damage.
• Implements and monitors chemical and fertilizer programs.
• Installs, propagates, and maintains the health of new and existing plants and landscape using a variety of vehicles and equipment.
• Maintains clean and clear lawns, walkways, roadways, and parking lots to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice.
• Constructs lawn and landscaping projects including soil grading, seeding, and sodding.
