Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is seeking a Groundskeeper in Facilities Planning and Management to perform year-round landscaping and groundskeeping to maintain campus grounds and support snow removal.

The role involves operating a variety of equipment, planting and pruning, litter removal, and assisting with campus events, under supervision of Buildings & Grounds Manager. Work hours are 6 am to 2 pm, Monday through Friday, with possible evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma.
• Ability to attain UW System driver authorization within first week of employment.
• Preferred: prior landscaping and grounds maintenance experience; snow removal experience using trucks/tractors/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, rake, edge, aerate and water turfgrass.
• Operate trucks, loaders, mowers, tractors, and other equipment for landscaping and snow removal as assigned.
• Inspect, clean and perform routine operator maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Police campus grounds for litter and trash; install/repair signs and campus amenities; assist with moving and setting up furniture and equipment.
• Move, set up and tear down tables and chairs for campus events.
