Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) invites you to join the Groundskeeping team at San Angelo State Supported Living Center in Carlsbad, TX. This full-time role focuses on grounds maintenance, tree and shrub care, equipment operation, and safety.

You will work a day shift, perform lawn maintenance, apply pesticides, assist in repairs, and support facility operations. A valid Texas driver’s license and ability to lift 50–100 lbs are required; telework not eligible; state benefits

Qualifications

Experience in groundskeeping operations and landscape maintenance.
Ability to safely operate power equipment including mowers, tractors and backhoes.
Must possess a valid Texas driver's license or obtain one within 90 days of hire.
Ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

Perform routine groundskeeping duties: mowing, trimming, fertilizing, planting and maintaining flowerbeds.
Maintain cemetery grounds where applicable and assist with related tasks.
Operate and maintain tools and equipment; report major issues to supervisor.
Follow daily, weekly and monthly work schedules and coordinate with team members.
Safely use pesticides/herbicides and manage waste and debris.
