Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Lead Custodian (Custodian IV) at the San Angelo State Supported Living Center with the CARLSBAD work location. The role focuses on advanced custodial tasks, supervision, inventory control, and quality assurance of cleaning operations.

Day shift; not eligible for telework. Responsibilities include coordinating custodial activities, maintaining records, training staff, and ensuring safety and cleanliness across resident and staff areas.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year paid custodial/housekeeping experience.
• Experience with environments serving individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
• Valid Texas driver license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly complex custodial work and serve as lead to other custodians.
• Inspect buildings and equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety standards.
• Manage cleaning supplies inventory and trigger reorders as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs of custodial activities, schedules and incidents.
• Assist Custodial Manager in planning custodial functions and staff scheduling.
