Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a Groundskeeper III (Senior Groundskeeper) at San Antonio State Hospital. The role focuses on maintaining grounds, planting beds, and leading a groundskeeping team to ensure safe and aesthetically pleasing hospital surroundings.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily tasks, operating equipment, and ensuring grounds are well kept. A Texas driver license is required, with potential for overtime and some travel.

Qualifications

• Nine (9) months of experience operating power equipment or groundskeeping duties.
• Nine (9) months of experience as a laborer/groundskeeper or similar landscape work.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver license or obtain it within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform senior-level groundskeeping duties for the hospital grounds and flower beds.
• Lead the work of other groundskeepers and assign daily tasks.
• Maintain sprinkler systems and clean parking lots, roads, and sidewalks.
• Operate tractors and other heavy equipment as needed and train others.
