Job summary

Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT is hiring a Groundskeeper for year-round landscape maintenance at our facilities. The role includes mowing, trimming, snow removal, and upkeep of turf, beds, and hardscape features across corporate properties.

You will operate standard grounds equipment, perform routine maintenance, and assist Facilities Management with various tasks. On-call duties are required during winter months; the position is outside and weather-exposed.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current valid Connecticut Driver's License.
• One to three years landscaping experience.
• Familiar with small engine operation and repair.
• Possess good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work extended hours at times.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine landscape maintenance (trash pickup, lawn mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, mulching).
• Perform snow removal using appropriate equipment and products.
• Be on-call during winter months.
• Maintain and renovate turf, trees, planting beds and hardscape features as directed.
• Safely operate trucks, tractors, sweepers, riding mowers and power tools; use PPE at all times.
• Report equipment failures to supervisor and perform basic maintenance checks.
• Assist Facilities Management with tasks and projects as assigned.
