Job summary

Southcoast Health in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain hospital grounds, assist with parking garage cleanliness, and support landscapes across our campus. The role requires a proactive, safety‑minded approach and flexibility to meet the department's needs.

You will report to the Executive Director of Engineering/Facilities & EVS and may work weekends, holidays, and on-call. A high school diploma and valid MA driver's license are required; vaccination against flu and COVID-19

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanic related trade school or related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain general maintenance tools.
• Three to five years experience preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts Driver's License.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 or be exempt with a signed waiver.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds clean-up on hospital grounds and other Southcoast properties.
• Assist in oversight/cleaning of parking garage(s) and landscaping contractor.
• Replace/monitor plantings on grounds as needed.
• Provide general equipment maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Assist other trades to complete required work; may include weekend/on-call duties.
