Job summary

Effinghamschools is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the hospital campus grounds, ensuring a clean, safe, and attractive environment. Duties may move indoors in bad weather and involve coordination with medical staff and other departments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; one year or more related experience.
• Experience in groundskeeping or healthcare setting preferred.
• Must be able to operate common groundskeeping tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grass height to three inches or less.
• Edge curbing around driveways and sidewalks; keep beds weed-free.
• Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Water and irrigate plantings; keep entrances and parking areas clean.
• Power wash exterior surfaces and clean outside windows as needed.
• Report safety hazards and equipment repairs; log maintenance in Help Desk.
• Supervise and monitor inmates per program requirements.
• Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed during inclement weather.
