Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a groundskeeper to maintain the premises of the Rogers facility, primarily outdoors, with some indoor work as directed. The role requires operating a forklift (certified) and performing weed control, trimming, and trash removal to keep the property presentable.

The position is on 1st shift, with variable hours. Applicants should have at least 1 year of groundskeeping experience and be willing to complete chemical handling and spill-control training as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in groundskeeping, lawn maintenance, or landscaping field preferred.
• Small engine repair knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the premises of the plant and keep grounds clean.
• Operate forklift with required certification.
• Weed, trim, and pull weeds to maintain appearance of the property.
• Empty trash bins outside and pick up loose trash.
• Lift up to 70 pounds as needed.
• Handle chemical loading/unloading training.
• Assist with spill control and offal duties as directed.

Job Details:

Responsibility: This position is responsible for the overall physical appearance of the premises_._

Requirements:

• This person will maintain the premises of the plant
• This person must operate forklift, requiring certification
• This person will weed eat, trim, and pull weeds as needed to keep up appearance of property.
• This person is responsible for emptying trash bins outside and picking up loose trash.
• This person at times would be required to lift from 5 to 70 pounds.
• This position requires chemical loading /unloading training
• This person will have some spill control training and responsibilities
• This person will also perform duties as required at the direction of supervisor, to include but not limitedto offal duties.

Equipment: Safety vest, gloves, PPE as required to unload chemicals, rain suit, trash containers/liners, water hoses, etc.

Communication Skills: None Specific.

Environment: Work primarily outside the facility subject to elements of weather, some assignments inside facility as directed. Stand/walking majority of shifts to keep grounds clean and orderly as directed. Work with chemicals. Days per week and hours per day will vary.

Pay: $17.15 hour

Requirements:

1 year experience in groundskeeping, lawn maintenance, or landscapingfield preferred, small engine repair knowledge is preferred.

There is 180 days (6 months) waiting period for former Tyson Foods team members.

Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.

This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.
