Job summary

Onni Properties (Chicago) Inc is seeking a maintenance associate to keep common areas clean across properties and to support operations as needed. The role requires travel between sites and a second shift with weekend work to support priorities.

Responsibilities include processing work orders, stocking supplies, assisting staff with notices, and ensuring safety and cleanliness of buildings and grounds to promote a quality living experience for residents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with hand/power tools preferred.
• Strong emphasis on safety and tenant-facing service.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with supervisor regarding status of work and issues.
• Schedules, monitors and performs work orders.
• Ensures supplies are in stock and orders as directed.
• Assists office staff with posting notices on resident doors.
• Inspects buildings and grounds for safety and cleanliness; notifies maintenance of repairs.
• Provides excellent customer service to prospective residents and tenants.
• Performs general building preventive maintenance tasks.
• Maintains common areas to ensure quality living environment.
• Communicates maintenance function to supervisor and property management.
• Performs common area clean-up including power washing and pool area care.

Job Description: Maintain the common areas neat and tidy, which include but is not limited to the driveways, parking lots, curbs, trash receptacle areas, exterior hallways, and any public areas. This role supports the broader portfolio and requires the flexibility to travel between sites as needed to support strategic and operational priorities. The shift will be second shift with weekends required.

What Will You Do

• Communicates with supervisor regarding the status of work and any potential issues
• Schedules, monitors and performs work orders as needed
• Ensures landscaping supplies are in stock and orders supplies, as directed
• Assists office staff as needed with posting notices on resident doors
• Inspects buildings and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness, and alerts Maintenance to items that need to be repaired
• Ensures excellent customer service to prospective residents and tenants, and promotes a quality living experience for all residents
• General building preventive maintenance tasks
• Provides excellent customer service to prospective and current tenants, and promotes a quality living experience for all residentsInspects buildings and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness, and alerts Maintenance to items that need to be repaired
• Communicates with supervisor regarding the overall maintenance function of the property
• Common area clean up to include power washing buildings, cleaning pool area, laundry rooms, public restrooms and trash bins
• Participates in Company-provided training such as fair housing, safety, non-discrimination, and harassment prevention
• Complies with all Company National Standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience using hand or power tools or equipment preferred

Salary Range: $21 - $23 per hour
