Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain property grounds using hand or power tools and equipment. The role includes mowing, pruning, planting, and simple repairs, with duties spanning cleanliness, safety, and basic customer communication.

Typical shift is Sunday-Thursday, 7:00am-3:30pm, with compensation of $17.00–$18.00 per hour. Preferred candidates have a high school diploma/GED and some related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months related experience and/or training preferred.
• Completion of safety and task training certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features.
• Make minor repairs to fences, gates, or walls.
• Dispose of trash and waste materials.
• Water and irrigate lawns, trees, and plants.
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, and hedges; mow or edge lawns.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, and shrubs and apply mulch; use gardening tools.
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Adhere to safety rules and use PPE; respond to trouble calls and spills.
• Advise on plant selection or care and provide information about services or costs.

Job Overview

The Groundskeeper will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features
• Make minor repairs to items such as fences, gates, or walls
• Gather, remove, and dispose of trash or waste materials
• Water and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems
• Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using grounds maintenance equipment
• Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools
• Rake, mulch, and compost leaves
• Operate and perform minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws
• Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment.Stops at risk behaviors of others and self
• Respond to trouble calls and cleans up spills
• Communicate with co-workers, management, and customers and advises on plant selection or care
• Provide information about landscaping services or costs

Education and/ or Experience
