Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain outdoor areas and perform basic repairs at a busy property. The role involves mowing, edging, pruning, planting, irrigation, leaf cleanup, and operating a range of grounds maintenance equipment.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and some related experience or safety training certifications. The position runs Sunday through Thursday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a pay rate of $17.00–$18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED – preferred.
• Six months related experience and/or training – preferred.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Completed all safety and task training certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features.
• Make minor repairs to items such as fences, gates, or walls.
• Gather, remove, and dispose of trash or waste materials.
• Water and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems.
• Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste.
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using grounds maintenance equipment.
• Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.
• Rake, mulch, and compost leaves.
• Operate and perform minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws.
• Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment
• Stops at risk behaviors of others and self
• Respond to trouble calls and cleans up spills
• Communicate with co-workers, management, and customers and advises on plant selection or care
• Provide information about landscaping services or costs
