Job summary

XKIG is seeking a Groundsperson in Virginia to support a vegetation management crew by clearing brush, cutting trees from the ground, and performing site clean-up. The role requires operating hand tools and gas-powered equipment, loading materials, and maintaining safety standards.

The position emphasizes physical stamina, the ability to work outdoors in varied weather, and possession of a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Must be physically able to perform demanding outdoor work.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety practices and enforce safety rules.
• Keep work area clear of debris on site.
• Work from ground to clear undergrowth using hand tools and gas-powered saws.
• Load/unload trucks with logs, brush and debris; feed brush into a chipper.
• Lower limbs with hand lines and operate equipment as assigned.
• Clean up job sites after completion; transport materials and tools to/from site.
• Set up/break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and public.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment; report major repairs.
