Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support our crew by clearing brush and trees from the ground, loading debris, and assisting with job-site cleanup across Tennessee operations. The role requires physical strength, the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and a valid driver’s license.

Training on safety, PPE, first aid/CPR, and the ability to travel for storm restoration work are expected necessities.

Qualifications

Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs, use chain saw and pruners in uneven terrain.
Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain first‑aid certification and CPR.
Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must have and maintain a Driver’s License if hired for a driving position.
Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

Clear brush and trees from right-of-way using handsaws, pole saws, pruners, and gas-powered chain saws.
Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into brush chipper.
Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and the public.
Perform general job-site cleanup and prepare/store materials and equipment.
Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned; perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment.
