Job summary

Edward Rose & Sons in Indiana is seeking a Grounds Technician to join our on-site operations team. You will help support a positive experience for residents by keeping the community grounds clean, well-maintained, and visually appealing.

The role requires outdoor work in varying temperatures, snow season responsibilities, and the ability to lift and move objects. You will communicate professionally with residents and co-workers and contribute to a great work environment with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• Ability to shovel snow and spread salt during snow season.
• Able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
• Lift at least 20 pounds and push/pull up to 80 pounds.
• Irrigation experience is a plus.
• Maintain a professional appearance and communicate clearly.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• General upkeep and cleanliness of the apartment community.
• Upkeep of parking lots, grounds around buildings, corridors, stairwells, laundry rooms, and mechanical rooms.
• Collect trash as needed.
• Weed beds using appropriate tools.
• Monitor irrigation to ensure watering of grass areas.
• Repair or replace sprinkler heads and lines as required.
• Report unhealthy lawn, trees, shrubs, and plants to management.
• Edge around trees and landscape borders for neat appearance.
• Rake grounds and blow or sweep sidewalks and parking lots as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
