Job summary

Edward Rose & Sons in Merrillville, IN is seeking a Grounds Technician to join our on-site operations team and help deliver a positive resident experience through diligent grounds upkeep. Responsibilities include lawn and bed maintenance, cleaning, irrigation monitoring, snow removal, and reporting issues to management.

The role requires reliability, physical stamina, and clear communication with residents and coworkers.

Qualifications

Experience in grounds maintenance preferred.
Ability to lift 20 pounds and push/pull up to 80 pounds.
Able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
Reliable transportation and valid drivers license.
Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

General upkeep and cleanliness of the apartment community.
Upkeep of parking lots, grounds, corridors, stairwells, laundry rooms, and mechanical rooms.
Collecting and removing trash as needed.
Weeding of beds using appropriate tools.
Monitoring the irrigation system to ensure all grass areas are adequately watered.
Repairing or replacing sprinkler heads and lines as required.
Reporting any unhealthy lawn, trees, shrubs, and plants to management.
Edging around trees and landscape borders to maintain a neat appearance.
Raking grounds and blowing or sweeping sidewalks, and parking lots, as required.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
