Job summary

Smith Landscaping, Inc. is seeking a Grounds Management Foreman in Ohio to lead outdoor maintenance for residential and commercial properties. The role includes supervising turf care, plantings, irrigation, and lighting while ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

You will guide a field team, manage equipment, and coordinate with clients on monthly service schedules. A clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug test are required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong teamwork and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices including pruning and cultural care.
• Experience with irrigation and low voltage lighting systems.
• Minimum of 3 years in the field or applicable education; industry certifications preferred.

• Manage grounds management team and equipment; supervise daily operations.
• Maintain communication with clients regarding monthly service schedules and needs.

• Operate and maintain equipment; diagnose plant issues and provide solutions.

Qualifications:

• Team oriented
• Leadership ability
• Knowledge of maintenance practices (plants, proper pruning, integrated pest control, cultural practices)
• Knowledge of irrigation and low voltage lighting systems
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the field or applicable education
• Industry certifications

• Know the clients’ wants, needs, desires and their schedule of monthly services (turf treatments, upcoming bed maintenance, and mowing) and maintain good communication with them

• Properly understand and complete all paperwork
• Be prepared for all contingencies (weather, personnel, equipment)
• Understand time management practices and how to apply them

• Network within Property Management Department and office (be available)
• Train and evaluate team members
• Enforce company policy if needed
• Operate and maintain equipment
• Diagnose and research all plant related problems
• Trouble shoot any problems or concerns of the teams or the client, including irrigation and lighting and provide solutions

The Grounds Management Foreman will report to the General Manager.
