Job summary

Bell Partners is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep our communities clean and well-maintained across multiple properties. You will work under the Community Manager and Maintenance Manager to maintain grounds, buildings, and common areas, ensuring a consistent, attractive look and safe operation.

The role involves outdoor maintenance, basic repairs, pool and snow-related tasks, and adherence to OSHA safety rules. A valid high school diploma and 2+ years in grounds keeping are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in grounds keeping in a multi-family environment.
• 2+ years of experience in landscaping; EPA/HVAC certifications may be required in communities depending on staffing levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the grounds of the assigned property.
• Maintain cleanliness outside each building and the grounds surrounding each building.
• Keep a uniform landscaped look by picking up debris around buildings and breezeways.
• Clean out building gutters.
• Plant and tend to flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs; mow lawns; apply fertilizer and insecticides; use pest control equipment.
• Follow procedures for maintenance of tools and equipment; lubrication, sharpening, and simple repairs as needed.
• Clean and remove trash.
• May perform pool maintenance duties.
• Shovel snow when necessary; spread salt on walkways to prevent ice buildup.
• Clean vacated apartments as directed by the Maintenance Manager; complete on schedule.
• Clean common areas daily; ensure amenities are well maintained (fitness facility, bathrooms, laundry, business center, offices, clubhouse).
• Assist maintenance team in vacant units or with light work orders/punch lists (no on-call).
• Follow all safety/OSHA requirements; maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
