Job summary

Shalom-Austin- in Austin, TX is seeking a Grounds team member for daytime shift from 7am to 3pm. You will maintain grounds, operate equipment, and collaborate with staff and members to keep outdoor spaces clean and inviting.

The role emphasizes communication, reliability, and the ability to work independently when needed, with on‑the‑job training provided and opportunities to contribute to the local community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to learn and perform basic maintenance.
• On-the-job training available; experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Remove debris, leaves, and litter to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
• Plant, prune, water, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation.
• Operate grounds-keeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and hedge trimmers.
• Inspect grounds regularly and report any hazards or repair needs.
• Maintain inventory of landscaping tools, supplies, and materials.
• Notify supervisor of supply needs, including fertilizers, pesticides, and other materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
