Job summary

Paylocity in Idaho is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to maintain the grounds under the supervision of the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor. You will operate a wide range of commercial equipment and perform tasks with minimal supervision.

This role requires handling snow removal, pesticide and fertilizer applications, irrigation system work, planting and caring for shrubs and turf, and regular maintenance of equipment and buildings.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a wide variety of commercial grade power equipment.
• Safely operate snow removal equipment including shovels, snow blowers, snowplows, and salt spreaders.
• Learn and apply pesticide and fertilizer programs; formulate applications.
• Learn, operate, and maintain irrigation systems.
• Learn how to plant and maintain shrubs, trees and turf.
• Identify and eradicate undesirable weeds.
• Maintain waterways and assist with fish at Visitor Center.
• Assist with installation of irrigation/landscape projects.
• Perform maintenance and repair duties on equipment and buildings.
• Work flexible schedules with varying hours.
• Work seasonally at the By-Product Facility and run related processes.

Reports To: Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

Summary/Objective

• Maintain the grounds under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor. Will use various methods and pieces of equipment to maintain grounds. Will be responsible to work alone and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions

• Operate and maintain a wide variety of commercial grade power equipment.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain snow removal equipment inclusive of snow shovels, snow blowers, snowplows, and salt spreaders.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Private Applicators License, as well as maintain an accurate record keeping manual.
• Learn and apply a variety of pesticide and fertilizer programs. Correctly formulating pesticide, weed, and fertilizer applications for maximum results while mitigating potential environmental impacts.
• Learn, operate, and maintain a variety of different types of irrigation systems.
• Learn how to properly plant and maintain a variety of shrubs, trees and turf.
• Identify, pull and eradicate undesirable weeds.
• Maintain waterways at the Visitor Center/Help maintain fish at Visitor Center.
• Learning the proper procedure used in installation of Irrigation/Landscape projects.
• Perform a wide range of maintenance and repair duties on equipment as well as general building maintenance.
• Ability to work flexible work schedules with varying hours as required.
• Work seasonally and as needed at the By-Product Facility inclusive of running the various process and equipment.
• Miscellaneous Duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

The worker is frequently subject to outside environmental conditions. The worker is subject to noise. The worker can be subject to outside weather conditions.

Physical Demands

The worker will be required to have a range of motion as follows:

• Often requires walking or moving to accomplish tasks.
• Often requires standing for sustained periods of time.
• Occasionally requires stooping and reaching.
• Occasionally requires pushing using upper extremities to press against something with steady force.
• Occasionally requires pulling using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
• Lifting is required on an occasional basis.
• Often requires feeling of products perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
• Repetitive Motions are required which involve substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Be able to work outside for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
• Good physical condition (lifting up to 50 pounds from ground level).
• Push a loaded wheelbarrow and fertilizer spreader.
• Wear hip boots and waders to walk in water.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-time position work 5 days a week, some weekend availability is required
