Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, located in Burgaw, NC, is seeking a Grounds Supervisor I to maintain the facility grounds and supervise offender workers.

Reporting to Facility Maintenance Supervisor IV, duties include mowing, seeding, equipment upkeep, enforcing safety procedures, coordinating projects, and ensuring compliance with work orders. This is a full-time role with state benefits and a salary range of $33,902 to $59,327.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of progressive experience in grounds upkeep preferred.
• Experience supervising workers or offenders is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lawn mowers, equipment, hand tools, tractors, trucks and related gear.
• Collect paper and debris from buildings, roofs, roadsides, and highways.
• Supervise offender workers on maintenance tasks for quality and safety.
• Plan and coordinate new projects with the supervisor.
• Implement changes in safety and security procedures and follow work orders.
