Job summary

Carolina Sweepers in Columbia, SC is seeking a Grounds Labor Technician for full-time outdoor work. You will perform litter pickup, surface cleaning, trash bag changes, dumpster enclosure duties, and general maintenance between sites, often driving a company pickup.

No prior experience required, but a valid driver's license and a safety-conscious mindset are essential. We provide training, benefits, and opportunities for long-term growth.

Qualifications

• Active driver license and clean driving record.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• No prior experience required; janitorial/cleaning experience is a plus.
• Safety training and PPE provided; prioritize hazards awareness.

Responsibilities

• Pick up litter across job sites.
• Wipe and clean surfaces such as windowsills, benches, etc.
• Change trash bags in outdoor cans.
• Clean dumpster enclosures and break down boxes; move heavy items.
• Perform other building maintenance tasks as needed.
• Drive a company pickup between sites.
• May work on ladders/roofs or near retention ponds; hang signs.

Our properties are mostly commercial/retail shopping centers. You will spend your days outside, rain or shine,

• Picking up litter
• Wiping/cleaning surfaces such as windowsills, trash can lid’s, benches, etc.
• Changing trash bags in outdoor trash cans
• Cleaning out dumpster enclosures, breaking down boxes, lifting/moving heavy pallets, furniture, etc.
• Other building maintenance work as needed
• You will drive a company pickup truck to and from jobsites
• May also be required to do some work on ladders/roofs or near retention ponds
• Hang signs

Requirements

This is a driving position. Applicants must have an active driver license and a clean driving record to be considered for this position.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with the work ethic necessary to operate on their own for most of the day. Experience is not required, however janitorial, and cleaning experience is a plus. Safety is our priority! Utilizing our Safety Coordinator and holding monthly safety meetings, we make sure our employees are protected from all kinds of hazards and have the proper PPE for the job.
