Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring a General Utility Worker for Grounds Services. The role covers manual grounds maintenance, light equipment operation and routine building upkeep across UNC–Chapel Hill campus. A sign-on bonus of $3,497 is offered, paid in two installments within the first year.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based in Chapel Hill, NC, with a 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. schedule, Monday through Friday. A NC driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to perform medium to heavy physical work and follow instructions.
• Requires valid NC Driver's License or ability to obtain one prior to hire date.
• Directly related landscape maintenance experience or demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual work related to upkeep of grounds, buildings and equipment on UNC campus.
• Carry out physical labor tasks with some specialized knowledge.
• Operate equipment and withstand extreme weather conditions.
