The University of Akron is seeking a Union Laborer to perform general labor, custodial duties and support for grounds maintenance. The role involves indoor/outdoor work, loading/unloading, and assisting skilled trades with equipment and events.

Shifts include Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu, with a structured schedule and overtime potential. The position offers full benefits, a pension plan, and paid time off under the CWA agreement.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers (including fractions and decimals).
• Must be able to read and write sentences.

Responsabilités

• Perform general indoor and outdoor labor (e.g. snow removal, loading/unloading, deliveries, move furniture). Assist grounds personnel with mowing, planting, weeding, pressure washing, trash removal and recycling.
• Perform custodial duties to clean offices, buildings, restrooms, sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, windows, walls and entrances; may assist with events and setup/removal of tables, chairs, stages and platforms.
• 0%-10% Assist skilled tradespersons and other workers; may train and lead staff and student employees in methods and procedures.
• 0-10% May perform minor repairs on equipment.
• 0-10% May drive vehicles to pick up and deliver equipment or materials.
• 0-10% Complete work, time and material usage reports; other duties as assigned.

Formation
