Job summary

Capstone On-Campus Management is hiring a Custodian for The University of Akron – Campus Housing. The role oversees cleanliness and maintenance of grounds, interiors, and common areas across residential communities, with a 24/7 on-call rotation for emergencies.

The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs, moving furniture, and performing routine custodial tasks such as cleaning restrooms, floors, windows, and entryways, while ensuring safety and readiness for residents and guests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year in janitorial/custodial work.
• Must have troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Good verbal communication and reading comprehension.
• Team player with initiative and reliability.
• Punctual, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of entrances, common areas, restrooms, offices and floors.
• Vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitize all areas including windows.
• Assist with snow removal and salt on walkways as needed.
• Respond to emergencies on-call 24/7 on a rotating basis.
• Assist with setup of furniture for meetings and events.
