Job summary

Pike Electric LLC in Delray Beach, FL is seeking a Groundman to join our field team supporting power grid construction and maintenance. This entry-level role reports to the Foreman and emphasizes safety, endurance and teamwork in demanding outdoor environments.

You will perform essential line work, assist with installation, inspect PPE, and participate in on-call outages and emergency responses, with opportunities to grow into higher-skilled positions within a nationwide electric utility

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance and repair of de-energized powerlines.
• Install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Perform rigorous physical labor and regularly lift heavy tools and equipment.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good work order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow all safety protocols and understand when to wear PPE.
