Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC (5 Star) is a premier full-service provider of electrical construction, maintenance, and repair services with offices in Western Kentucky and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. The Groundman assists line crew or network crew members by working on the ground, handing tools and heavy materials to workers.

The groundman will dig holes and pad ditches, and perform other similar work in connection with the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground power lines.

Qualifications

• Groundworker role requiring physical stamina and safety focus.
• OSHA 10-hour training within 60 days or equivalent.
• Ability to pass background and drug screening.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime including storm duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist line crew by handling tools and materials on the ground.
• Dig holes, pad ditches, and assist with setting transformers and poles.
• Clear right-of-way and assist in installing cables and URD components.
• Report accidents or hazards to Foreman and follow safety procedures.
• Perform job site cleanup and basic traffic flagging as needed.
