Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Ground Systems Computer HW Engineer to join the Compute IPT for a radar system. You will design, stand up, and sustain high‑performance computer environments that support DSP and mission software.

You’ll work with teams to ensure hardware/software compatibility and security while applying systems engineering principles. The role emphasizes hardware baseline management, ASME-compliant drawings, BOM creation, and hands-on integration with other engineers.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
• Must read and develop engineering drawings per ASME standards
• Experience deriving hardware specs from requirements
• Familiar with BOMs, trade studies, and HW baselines
• Knowledge of servers, switches, routers, storage, and fiber optics

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to define and document the computer system design
• Develop Cameo models and engineering Bills of Materials
• Determine system specs and hardware/software compatibility
• Support integration of computer environments for radar systems
• Identify and resolve program support deficiencies
• Work hands-on with engineers to build and checkout components
• Collaborate with systems engineering, cybersecurity, SW engineering and other IPT members
