Job summary

Crane is seeking an Operations Supervisor, Ground to lead the Outbound and Inbound Specialist teams across the full ground shipment lifecycle. You will own execution quality, ensure coverage, and escalate non-conformities with facts and clear ownership.

You will supervise, coach, and develop teams, onboard new specialists on TMF, Aljex, and related systems, and drive continuous improvements in data integrity and handover discipline.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in transportation or 3PL operations, including 1–2 years supervising.
• Hands-on operating experience in a transportation management system; TMF and/or Aljex strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead a team, maintain morale, and drive process adherence.
• Working knowledge of US domestic ground freight modes (FTL, LTL, intermodal) and lifecycle from booking to invoice.
• Data literacy to interpret operational reporting and challenge abnormal numbers.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor TMF bookings to ensure outbound specialists meet targets.
• Balance workload across the shift and reassign files as needed.
• Ensure outbound and inbound queues are covered before shift start and end.
• Escalate issues to the appropriate owner and route as needed.
• Keep visibility of the board; intervene only when coverage requires it.
• Onboard and certify competency on TMF, Aljex, Tive, Open Dock, and MacroPoint.
• Coach and develop Outbound and Inbound Specialist teams with regular feedback.
• Own shift scheduling and staffing for continuous coverage.
• Report shift performance using dashboards and explain variance with data.
• Drive continuous improvement and root-cause analysis with the Program Manager.
