Job summary

Crane seeks a Capacity Planning Specialist, Ground to coordinate carrier coverage for ground shipments using Descartes Aljex, Open Dock, and MacroPoint. You will source capacity, confirm rates, book pickups, monitor ETAs, and ensure live tracking before dispatch.

You’ll audit final charges and support revenue reconciliation. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in carrier procurement, dispatch, or capacity planning, strong vendor negotiation, and proficiency with MS Office and Teams.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of carrier procurement, dispatch, truckload brokerage, or capacity planning.
• Hands-on experience with Descartes Aljex strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of US domestic ground freight modes, equipment types, and hours-of-service.
• Strong verbal and written communication with carriers and internal teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Open Shipments board in Aljex and prioritize by pickup urgency.
• Source capacity from approved carrier pool; confirm rate, equipment, and driver availability.
• Record carrier, rate, equipment, and driver details in Aljex for accuracy.
• Complete dispatch and update the Aljex milestone.
• Ensure tracking is live via MacroPoint before pickup.
• Verify carrier compliance before dispatch and resolve issues as needed.
