Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton offers a Summer Internship in Real Estate and Facilities. The program provides hands-on exposure to design, renovation, and infrastructure projects supporting the Groton shipyard with senior staff mentoring.

Interns will assist with project surveillance, calculations on fluid and structural systems, drawing reviews, code research, and early project development; summer commitment is 8 weeks, 40 hours weekly, 18+, and US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university.
• US citizenship required.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2027 to September 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support managing projects and surveillances.
• Perform calculations on fluid systems, structures, and components.
• Drawing and Procedure reviews and updates.
• Research relevant codes in support of construction and inspection.
• Preliminary project development.
