Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a Bather/Student Groomer (Groom Tech) to join our team in a pet-friendly retail setting. You will learn grooming skills through the Paragon School of Pet Grooming, work toward becoming a groomer, and help customers and their pets with brushing, bathing, and nail trimming.

We offer flexible schedules, a supportive team, and opportunities to grow. Candidates must be at least 18, pass a drug screen, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or other industry working with pets is preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time.
• Ability to review videos and take tests online.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Candidates must pass a drug screening and validated selection test and be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Delight neighbors and pets with grooming services such as brushing, bathing, and trimming nails.
• Learn and demonstrate all skills necessary to become a groomer through the online distance program.
• Ensure the wellness and safety of furry patrons at all times.
• Develop long-term relationships with neighbors by understanding their needs and recommending products and services.
• Perform routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment inviting.
• Complete Safety Training certification.
• Assist store team members during grooming downtime.
