Job summary

Safeway in Kent, WA is seeking a Store Director with a proven track record of leading multi-department teams in a retail grocery setting. You will oversee store operations, drive sales, manage staff, and safeguard assets while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include forecasting labor, enforcing cash handling procedures, merchandising for strong in-stock conditions, and ensuring compliance with safety, sanitation and wage laws.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ management experience in a multi-department retail operation.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred.
• Strong customer service and supervisory skills.
• Solid understanding of overall store operations and leadership abilities.
• Passage of Store Director Selection (SDS) process.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of the retail grocery store, including store performance, cash control, inventory and security, customer service and staff management.
• Forecast, schedule and monitor labor to align with sales goals and wage budgets.
• Develop and direct execution of strategies to improve product placement and appearance.
• Monitor display accuracy and promotions; ensure products are displayed and stocked.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies, including wage and hour, safety, and sanitation.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff, peers, supervisors, suppliers and customers.
