Job summary

Smart & Final in Union City, CA is hiring a Service Clerk for the Union City location. You will help customers, manage carts, check prices, restock shelves, and assist with loading merchandise into carts and vehicles.

The role involves lifting up to 60 pounds and maintaining cleanliness throughout the store. Prior retail experience is helpful; training provided. This is a hands-on customer service position in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Read and write English; interact with customers and coworkers.
• Able to read simple instructions, product labels, and pricing codes.
• Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain carts in store and retrieve carts from parking areas.
• Assist customers with loading merchandise into carts and into their vehicles.
• Check retail prices on shelves for cashiers and update as needed.
• Return mispriced items to correct shelves; restock and face product aisles.
• Keep store entrance and restrooms clean; manage trash and floor care.
