Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following functions, in addition to other duties as assigned:

1. Keep the Grocery department well stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. Build displays to drive incremental sales. Stock and rotate merchandise to ensure freshness. Keep products within easy customer reach. Store excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
2. Greet customers with a smile, answer questions, and help resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
3. Apply proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, and ensure merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs.
4. Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking down, and storing deliveries, if trained (training provided).
5. Handle damaged or discontinued items according to company policy. Remove unsellable products.
6. Maintain sanitation in the department by following cleaning schedules and guidelines to ensure work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases are clean and meet health and OSHA requirements. Properly dispose of trash.
7. Maintain productivity standards, work methods, and shrink control. Comply with security regulations and policies. Restock at a rate determined by company standards.
8. Assist with baling cardboard or related duties if trained (training provided).
9. Ensure smooth department and store operations by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Continuously seek to improve job performance.
10. Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
11. Assist in other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without accommodation. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed:

• Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or GED. No prior experience required.
