Job summary

Meijer is seeking an engaged team member to drive exceptional customer experience and store operations. You will mentor peers, coordinate daily tasks, and help ensure inventory, safety, and service standards are met.

You will participate in training, scheduling, and leadership efforts while maintaining Meijer's commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This role involves cash handling and frequent interaction with customers.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience, including checkout.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Support training new team members and cross-training high-potential talent.
• Work with leadership on department scheduling to improve engagement, service, and profitability.
• Ensure freshness of products through rotation and dating policy adherence.
• Guide team on food safety standards and safety compliance.
• Lead ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display where applicable.
• Create an environment that supports the Meijer culture, valuing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed; operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories to help meet goals.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments as needed.
