Job summary

Albertsons Companies in Amarillo is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager to lead guest relations and oversee store operations in grocery, dairy, and frozen departments. You will help maintain stock, train team members, and ensure safe, compliant, and profitable daily activities.

The role requires a minimum of one year in a store, a high school diploma, and a Certified Food Safety Manager certification. Expect a 40-hour week with varied shifts and opportunities to advance within a dynamic retail

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• The Assistant Grocery Manager is required to work an average of 40 hours per week with varying opening, closing and day shifts.
• Minimum of one year store experience.
• Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods (up to 6 hours).
• Ability to function as a team member and accept supervisory coaching.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests entering the area.
• Assist with maintaining proper stock levels in grocery, dairy and frozen departments.
• Assist with interviewing, training, scheduling, performance and productivity of all grocery department team members.
• Assist with performance evaluations in a timely manner within the department.
• Ensure proper rotation procedures are enforced.
• Assist with managing all dairy/frozen and grocery merchandising.
• Assist with ordering seasonal merchandise and maintaining records of movement.
• Coordinate displays and quantity purchases; assist with ad estimates and purchasing.
• Coordinate with grocery DSD partners on displays and buy-ins.
• Assist with backroom organization, safety, and stock level control.
• Assist with safeguarding store assets and enforcing policies.
