Albertsons Companies in Texas seeks an Assistant Grocery Manager to support the Grocery Manager in daily operations, ensure product availability, merchandising standards, and inventory control while leading associates and maintaining exceptional customer service.

You will oversee department tasks, coach team members, and step in during the Grocery Manager’s absence, promoting teamwork and a positive work environment. Training and development opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

• Monitors inventory levels and helps maintain appropriate product quantities.
• Assists with inventory counts and department audits.
• Helps identify and address shrink, product damage, and inventory discrepancies.
• Ensures proper product rotation to reduce waste and maintain product quality.
• Supports company asset-protection and inventory-control procedures.
• Assists with training and onboarding Grocery Department associates.
• Provides ongoing coaching and feedback regarding job responsibilities and department standards.
• Helps assign daily tasks and follows up to ensure completion.
• Supports scheduling and staffing needs based on department workload and business needs.
• Reinforces customer service, productivity, safety, and operational expectations.
• Identifies training and development opportunities for associates.
• Ensures department operations follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Promotes safe work practices and promptly addresses potential hazards.
• Maintains appropriate sanitation and housekeeping standards.
• Ensures equipment is used safely and properly.
• Supports completion of required department documentation, inspections, and compliance activities.
• Follows applicable food safety and product-handling requirements.
