Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Any management experience required.
• 1 year of grocery retail experience

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines; ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
• Report safety risks or issues, including robbery, theft or fraud; notify management of accidents
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and CAO (Computer Assisted Ordering)
• Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process
• Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note discrepancies
• Assist store management in preparing budgets, P&L reviews, and actions on financial reports
• Monitor and control expenses for the department
• Stay current with ads and promotions; implement period promotional plans
• Prepare seasonal critiques for sales/merchandising supervisor
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management
• Understand store layout and product locations
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
• Train and develop associates and participate in performance appraisals
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume during hours
• Collaborate with associates to promote teamwork
• Communicate information to associates
• Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews
• Manage conflict professionally and maintain integrity
• Follow directions and resolve customer/business issues
• Provide support interacting with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
• Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
