Job summary

Northeast Grocery in New York is seeking a Grocery Department Supervisor to help run daily operations, merchandising, pricing, stocking and inventory control. You will support the Grocery Manager and oversee clerks to ensure fast, friendly and efficient service.

Responsibilities include training new associates, maintaining 5S standards, controlling shrink, and ensuring sanitation and pricing compliance across the department.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve objectives.
• High School Degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Consistently provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service.
• Assist with day-to-day operation of the department including merchandising, pricing, stocking and inventory.
• Assist with ordering and stocking merchandise and meeting transmission times.
• Maintain a neat, clean workstation according to 5S standards.
• Oversee training and development of new associates in grocery operations.
• Ensure sanitation and pricing procedures and regulations are followed within grocery operations.
• Unload warehouse merchandise from trucks.
• Support the Grocery Manager and store leadership as needed.
• Control shrink through adherence to policies and procedures.
