Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking an associate to deliver outstanding customer service in a department store setting. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment and support the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding our Customer 1st strategy.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, knowing products, ensuring product quality and freshness, and following food safety and safety procedures. Previous retail experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create welcoming environment for customers and assist with questions about products.
• Know products in department and respond to questions; suggest items.
• Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials.
• Check product quality; review sell-by dates and act accordingly.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products ordered.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures; log temperatures.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks.
