Job summary

Kroger is seeking a department associate to deliver outstanding customer service and help maintain a safe, clean store environment. The role involves helping customers with product questions, showcasing items, and ensuring freshness and correct labeling throughout the department.

Qualifications

• Provide excellent customer service and knowledge of department offerings.
• Promote safety and sanitation in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Assist department manager to achieve department goals and maintain QA standards.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products in the department and suggest items to customers.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items and respond to inquiries.
• Inform customers about grocery specials and available stock.
• Ensure products are fresh, correctly labeled, stocked, and within sell-by dates.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Maintain safety procedures, temperature logs and proper storage conditions.
• Assist with inventory control and housekeeping to keep the department clean and organized.
