Job summary

SpartanNash is hiring a cashier at our Petoskey location to help customers quickly and accurately total purchases, process payments, and bag items with care.

You will operate the register and scanner, handle cash and card payments, and communicate store programs and promotions while delivering courteous service in a fast-paced setting. Training provided; prior retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases and total amounts.
• Process financial transactions (cash, checks, cards, coupons) accurately per policy.
• Bag purchases and maintain clean, stocked check-stand area; assist in merchandising and price/signage accuracy.
