Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking an Assistant Department Manager to help plan, organize, staff, train and direct Grocery Department associates. You will assist with production and customer service functions while maximizing store sales and profits in a safe, ethical manner.

Responsibilities include organizing work, staffing, training, scheduling, and ensuring prompt, courteous service for customers. You will also use CAO for ordering and maintain proper signage, rotation, and display

Qualifications

• Flexible to work mornings/afternoons/evenings/nights as needed.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays as required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
• Capable of managing people, merchandising and scheduling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Department Manager in organizing work and staffing as authorized by store management.
• Provide prompt, courteous service to customers and respond to comments or complaints.
• Use CAO to order merchandise and track receipts and on-hand balances.
• Price and display merchandise, manage signage, rotation, quality and space allocation.
• Coach associates in merchandising techniques, customer service and promotions.
