Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Spokane, WA is seeking an assistant to the Grocery Department Manager to help plan, organize, staff, train and direct department associates while focusing on safe, ethical store operations and strong customer service.

You will use CAO for ordering, assist with pricing, display, signage, and participate in budget input, scheduling and promoting company initiatives to improve sales and store performance.

Qualifications

• Willing to be flexible and work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights as required.
• Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Department Manager in organizing work and staffing the department to ensure prompt, courteous service.
• Respond to customer and associate comments, complaints, requests, and questions professionally.
• Use CAO to manage ordering quantities and track receipts and on-hand balance in the Department Manager's absence.
• Price and display merchandise, maintain signage, rotation, quality, and space allocation.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results; support promotional initiatives.
