Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Spokane, WA is seeking an Assistant Department Manager for the Grocery department. You will assist in planning, organizing, staffing and directing associates to deliver prompt, courteous service and meet department goals.

You will oversee ordering, pricing, merchandising, inventory integrity, safety compliance and employee development, while supporting budget and growth initiatives and upholding Kroger values.

Responsibilities

• Assist Department Manager in organizing work and scheduling associates for prompt service
• Respond to customer and associate comments, complaints and questions professionally
• Use CAO to manage ordering and balance on hand in absence of the manager
• Price and display merchandise; maintain signage, rotation, freshness and space allocation
• Engage in merchandising techniques, customer service, product presentation and promotions
• Ensure compliance with company policies, dress code, sanitation and a respectful work environment
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results
• Maintain equipment and facilities to safety and company standards
• Perform other duties as assigned
