Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Grocery Department position to assist the Grocery Manager and Third Person in daily store operations. The role involves supervising staff, ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and merchandising, and stepping in for leadership in the absence of senior managers.

The incumbent will promote customer service initiatives, resolve customer issues, and ensure compliance with safety and merchandising policies while supporting efficient store performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist Grocery Manager and Grocery Third Person in daily operations.
• Supervise and train personnel; assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and rotation.
• Direct operations in absence of Store Director, Grocery Manager, and Third Person.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety and security policies.
• Open and close the store; may back up cashier; engage in suggestive selling.
